In Greece, the classification of a vessel as commercial or private pleasure depends on its use and operation,

not just its construction.

A private pleasure vessel is for the personal recreational use of the owner and guests, whereas a commercial yacht is for commercial activities, such as chartering for profit.

To be considered "traditional," a vessel must adhere to historical construction methods while still meeting modern safety and environmental regulations.
